GOLF AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Golf courses are more than simple leisure facilities. They are part of an area’s infrastructure and can contribute to local development. The Group manages 50 branded golf courses (20 in the Paris region) on behalf of public and private owners. They all have a strategic location within an urban setting or are part of the tourist infrastructure. These dedicated sport and leisure sites are protected real estate spaces.
CERTIFIED SUSTAINABLE COURSES
- The company has an environmental charter and an environmentally friendly/sustainable label, developed in partnership with the certification body Ecocert. This formalises its environmentally aware practices which include reduced use of chemical products, water conservation and quality policy, respect for the soil and protecting and developing biodiversity. Every course develops its own approach.
- Best practices are trialled at Toulouse’s Teoula golf course, a pilot, accredited site. The objective of running a 100% environmentally-friendly golf course is clear to see. In the spirit of a shared approach to sustainability, stakeholders within the sector are regularly informed of new practices and progress made at this course.
ACADEMY AND TRAINING CENTER
The UGolf Academy runs introductory sessions to promote golf as sport. It trains more than 3,500 new golfers every year and is the top licence issuer in France. The Ugolf Academy is the only one to offer trainings abroad with locations in four countries around the world: Thailand, Brazil, Spain and Morocco.
UGolf’s «unlimited» training packages are an excellent way to promote golf. As their success relies completely on competent instructors, training at this level is included in the provision. The golf schools in Toulouse and Paris offer brevet d’état instructor training, consolidating UGolf’s quality strategy.
Contests encourage a sense of fair play. Every year, UGolf organises more than 1,500 competitions, provides day-to-day support and sponsors all associations using its courses.
The Junior Tour is the biggest competition between golf schools in France. This competition gives access to the competition both to the youngest but also to the most confirmed players with high-performance stages to guarantee an optimal
level of play.
This involvement means clubs of elite players trained in UGolf’s schools can receive a national ranking. The best clubs receive financial support to achieve this.
A HIGH PERFORMING NETWORK OF SUPPORTED GOLF COURSES
